David P. Korteling has over 22 years of legal experience and is Of Counsel to Axelson, Williamowsky, Bender & Fishman, P.C. Mr. Korteling practiced for 15 years with a mid-sized law firm where he was a Partner focusing on business law, tax and estate planning, litigation and family law. Prior to that, he was a partner in a boutique litigation firm. Mr. Korteling began is legal career as an associate with an estate planning and business law firm that served as in-house counsel for a regional accounting firm.
His diverse background in law, accounting, finance, and business enables Mr. Korteling to provide high quality integrated legal services across multiple practice areas.
Mr. Korteling received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Georgia State University. Upon graduation from Georgia State University, he attended the American University School of Law where he received his JD in 1994, graduating cum laude. Mr. Korteling received his LL.M. (Tax) degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.
Mr. Korteling is admitted to practice in Maryland, Virginia, and the U.S. District Court, District of Columbia, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, U.S. District Court, District of Maryland, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, United States Tax Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
